Landscape painting of hunters and their dogs in a snow covered setting. The painting has a similar composition to that of Pieter Bruegel the Elder's "Hunters in the Snow". The painting is signed by the artist in the bottom corner. It is framed in a gold frame.

Artist Biography

Marques Reitzel was born in 1896 and died in 1963. Reitzel was active and lived in California and Indiana and was known for painting seascapes, landscape and genre paintings. Reitzel founded and was the director fo the Pescadero Summer School of Art. They were the head of the art department of San Jose State College from 1938 to 1956 and also taught art. Their work was shown at the Corcoran Biennial Exhibition in Washington.
