Mixed media wall sculpture. The work is made from white trim. Inside the box it is lined with purple fabric. There is a wooden pedestal with a shell attached to the top of it. The box is titled and dated by the artist.

Artist Biography

Julie Lee, "I was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1958. I moved to Texas with my family in 1971. I received a B. S in biology from Lamar University, Beaumont, TX in 1981. I have been employed by Texas Department of Health since 1982. I teach and study Hatha Yoga. I am a gardener. I have always put things in boxes. I studied clay at the Art School in Beaumont in 1988, and printmaking at the Beaumont Art League in 1998. I learned to build things from my father. I learned to sew from my mother. I started making boxes in 1995 and have participated in the following shows: Beaumont Art League 3-D Show in 1995; Beaumont Art League Membership Show in 1995; The Art Studio Membership Show in 1998; The Baytown Show in 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999; Spectrum '98 at the Art Mudeum of Southeast Texas in Beaumont; 'Wonder Boxes' solo show at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas Cafe in Beaumont. My boxes are on display at the Menil Bookstore in Houston, TX."
