Beautiful colored etching of a woman named Lady Carmichael wrapped in an elegant red sash. Signed by a printmaker in the lower right corner. Hung in a lovely decorative frame.

Artist Biography

Jessie Rendle Furber was a female British printmaker born in Whitchurch in 1880. She trained at the South Kensington Schools of Art and specialized in mezzotints. She exhibited from 1908 to 1938. She is recorded as exhibiting at the Royal Academy and the Walker Art Gallery. Four of her etchings are a part of the permanent collection at the British Museum. Furber passed away in 1966.
